Website settings and domains
Manage SEO and social sharing
Nune automatically creates canonical links, search-engine instructions, social-sharing tags and structured data. Your settings supply the content used by those tags.
Set website defaults
- Open Settings > SEO.
- Enter the default site description.
- Choose a default social image from the Media Library.
- Select the most appropriate business type.
- Enter one complete social profile URL per line.
- Add the X/Twitter username without the
@symbol if applicable. - Choose whether search engines may index the website.
- Add Google Search Console or Bing verification values when required.
- Select Save SEO Settings.
Business type, public business details and opening hours help Nune create appropriate structured data. Keep those details accurate under Business Details.
The top of the SEO page shows the current indexing status, a default social preview and direct links to the website's XML image sitemap and robots file. Leave indexing enabled on a live public website. Disable it only while a site should remain out of search results.
Customise the XML sitemap
Use XML sitemap to include or exclude the homepage, listing pages, individual pages, posts, products, galleries and image entries. Include only public canonical URLs that you want search engines to consider for search results.
The sitemap refresh setting controls how soon the generated XML file can refresh after a website change. It does not instruct Google or another search engine to crawl at that interval; search engines decide their own crawl schedule. Nune includes accurate last-modified dates where content provides them.
Review content health
The Content health section lists active pages, posts and products with missing or long SEO titles, missing or long descriptions, or no main image. Select an item to open its editor and correct the listed issues.
The checks are guidance rather than a guarantee of how a search engine will display a result.
Add image descriptions and licensing
Use Image alt text to find Media Library images without descriptions and edit them in one place. Describe what the image communicates; do not repeat “image of” or fill the field with keywords.
The Default alt-text suffix is added after the individual description of each public Media Library image. For example, an image saved as Original abstract painting with a default suffix of Emma Kate Art is output as Original abstract painting — Emma Kate Art. Leave the default blank if every image should use only its own alt text. Decorative images that are intentionally hidden from screen readers remain empty.
Set Default media creator and licensing once when the same creator, credit and licence normally apply across the Media Library. Open Creator and licensing on an individual image only when it needs different values. Blank individual fields inherit the site defaults.
The license and acquire-license fields must contain complete HTTPS addresses. Nune adds the effective licensing details to the image's structured data when it is used as the main or social image.
Redirect old addresses
Use Redirects after changing or removing a public URL:
- Enter the old path, such as
/old-page. - Enter an internal destination such as
/new-page, or a complete external web address. - Use 301 Permanent for a lasting move. Use 302 Temporary only when the move will be reversed.
- Select Save Redirect.
The hit count shows how often the redirect has been used.
Review missing pages
The 404 report records public addresses that visitors or crawlers attempted to open but could not find. Frequently requested paths may need a redirect. The report can be cleared after it has been reviewed.
Set SEO for one item
Pages, posts and products each have an SEO section. Add a concise meta title and description when they should differ from the normal title and excerpt.
If an item has no individual description, the website default is used. Search engines may still rewrite titles and descriptions in their results.
Choose the sharing image
For a page, post or product, Nune uses images in this order:
- the item's main image;
- the default social image in SEO Settings;
- the site logo.
The main image can be hidden from the visible page while remaining available for listings and social sharing. Use meaningful Media Library alt text where possible.
Social networks often cache older previews. After changing an image or description, the website may be correct even if an existing shared link still shows the previous version.
